The picture above is of the cenotaph in Main Street. It is erected from Weldon stone and stands on three steps constructed from Derbyshire stone.
It stands 16 feet high.
At the top is a bronze wreath of laurel leaves and in the centre is a metal plaque bearing the names, in alphabetical order.
This book covers the parishes of Great and Little Brington, Althorp and Nobottle.
It records the names, ages and dates of death of all those since July 1981 whose Funeral or Thanksgiving services were held in St. Mary’s Church, as well as those persons whose services were held elsewhere, but the committal of their mortal remains or ashes took place in St. Mary’s Churchyard.
The Book of Remembrance is displayed within the church close to the lectern.
